  • 8 oz (226g) linguine pasta
  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) chicken broth
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) dry white wine (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the shrimp. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook the shrimp until they turn pink and are cooked through, then transfer them to a plate and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  5. Add the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and dry white wine (if using). Stir the sauce and let it simmer gently for about 3-4 minutes to thicken.
  6. Stir in the olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and chopped fresh parsley.
  7. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the creamy garlic sauce to coat evenly.
  8. Add the cooked linguine pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together until the pasta and shrimp are coated in the creamy sauce.
